Buckden  Village Institute

Built in 1912, Buckden Village Institute is the village hall for the parish of Buckden in Upper Wharfedale, North Yorkshire. The hall is located in the centre of  Buckden, and provides one of the main meeting places for members of our community. Visitors to the Dale and residents of nearby villages are always welcome at events held in the hall.

A wide variety of social events take place in the hall as well as the local art group, Buckden Singers rehearsals, Parish Council meetings and an increasing number of external bookings, income from which enable us to let local people and groups use the hall free of charge.

The hall is a charity (named Buckden Township Hall) run by a committee elected at a general meeting held in April/May every year at which all residents can vote. The hall is self financing and its main source of income is the annual Gala as well as the Duck Race, Buckden Singers concerts and hall booking fees.

Buckden is a harmonious community which prides itself on making everyone feel at home in the community without pressuring anyone to join in more than they wish.  We hope to see you in the hall whenever you feel like coming and we guarantee a friendly and warm welcome.
